Oh Fount Of Joy

I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Hej there! How are ya?!

That quote sure gets used a lot this time of year, but man, do I feel it. I guess we should learn to be thankful for every month but the fall season is definitely one of my favorites. The colors, the smells, the crisp air, the warm cozy sweaters, we are officially entering Introvert season and I am so ready.

One reason the Photographer and I are ready for the chill out time, is how busy we have been. But you know what, as busy as we have been with business, it has been Awesome. (I would write that in all caps but I feel that is a bit overwhelming to have to read).

The Fountain Project

One of the highlights of the summer was what we call,’ The Fountain Project’. Wow for fun. We met so many amazing humans on this project. We hope to have some long time friends. The Fountain Project was a commercial ‘gig’ working with a production company in Minneapolis called Current Resident (y’all. If you have any desire whatsoever to have a commercial made for your company, or help to make a video or learn to do lighting work behind the cameras, etc, anything. This is the crew! They are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and they are all about working with local artists.) and a unique fountain company, Kasco Marine. I truly hope to be able to work with them all again. Not only were we in Lake Superior but we also got to travel to Centennial Lakes, MN and Clifton Hollow Golf Club in River Falls, WI.

Christian even learned how to change out fountain heads for different spray patterns, which saved a lot of time. It definitely helps to have a waterman on the team!

We captured project images like:

Which can only be acquired by:

*Kasco (along with Christian Dalbec Photography) does not recommend that anyone enter a body of water with a running unit. These images were obtained under close supervision by qualified professionals.

Right? I mean for real. This group just turned the art of fountain design into full on Art. Utilizing Christian’s unique talents allowed the project to reach new levels, previously unseen in the industry. But you want to know my favorite part? Working with these amazing humans. Seriously, we worked with the fountain engineers, who Knew their stuff. They had Passion and Pride in their work. The production company were right there too. I’ve written about it before, working with passionate people, makes all the difference. Buying a product from a company that Cares, makes a difference. It’s like buying a piece of art. You know the artist’s heart and soul went into that piece they created, that they now have to sell (Because everybody needs to eat, right?). You know you’re supporting a family when you buy art, and if a product is a work of art? If the company designing the product is full of artists? It’s the same thing!

Honestly, it gives me goosebumps. These wonderful people, doing what they love and are good at.

Plus bonus! We got to see some behind-the-scenes fountains. We have very seriously been considering the practicality of a pond in our new land, just to be able to have one of these amazing works of art.

Christian’s Favorite

This was definitely a highlight of our summer. It was a long project that was a Ton of work and preparation, but in the end, it was an amazing experience. While I was definitely just an assistant, it was a load of fun to observe and participate.

You humans out there are certainly amazing. I can’t wait to keep connecting and meeting more of you.

If you plan to come up the shore anytime soon, please reach out! We would love to connect – just remember to watch out for the deer 😉

xx
