Chasing The Light
A Day In The Life Ever wonder what Christian Dalbec does every day to get those spectacular sunrise shots? Well.. let’s take a peak shall we? 😉 Every morning Christian sets his alarm to go off approximately 2 hours before sunrise. This time of year (Octoberish), sunrise is at 7:00am. He has his alarm set for 4:50am. In the summer, when sunrise is much earlier, the alarm gets set to 2:30 or 3am. I have said it before, it takes a really special kind of crazy to do what this man does everyday. In theory, Christian has his camera and wetsuit (and coffee) prepped and ready to go out the…

Michigan U.P.
And Gallery Coffee Company This past weekend, my photographer and I made the 6 hour trek to one of our favorite spots on our lake: Munising, MI. It’s always an interesting adventure to prep for.. do you bring summer clothes, fall clothes, spring, winter?? well, yes. You pack EVERYTHING.. for EVERY contingency. But oh yeah hey.. you’re in a tiny pick-up camper that has to hold multiple wet-suits and camera gear, not to mention food. Oh, the joys. Almost every time we plan a trip, we have a conversation about me driving for part of it. I have to gently remind Christian that while I would be more than happy…

Grateful From Behind The Scenes
The Joy Of Being An Artist’s Wife Many of our followers are aware of the publicity we have been getting lately along with a few “big breaks.” I would like to take a moment and express our eternal ‘Thanks’ to everyone that was a part of this. As most of you are aware, you can find a rather large display of Christian’s beautiful images at Sivertson’s Gallery in Grand Marais, MN. This has been one of the biggest blessings and greatest honors for my artist. To be featured alongside other artists we have both loved and admired for years is both humbling and spine-tinglingly thrilling. The Sivertson family is a…

2019 West Coast Trip
As many of our followers know, Christian and I were married this past November. We decided to put off the big version of a honeymoon until it felt right and we knew where we wanted to go. Well, we decided to drive out to the Oregon Coast early this summer, and take our sweet time exploring. Driving a falling-apart pick-up camper (that gets 9 miles to the gallon – sorry earth! 🙁 ) we drove 15 hours the first day. Making it from Two Harbors, MN to just inside the Montana boarder in one day. Yikes. Naturally, we added Glacier National Park as a stop. We booked a few nights…

The Beginning
We decided to get this blog thing up and launched, so we thought we might as well start from where our story began.. A long long time ago. In a galaxy far far away.. Haha just kidding!! But for real, our story began in a Two Harbors coffee shop, I was working as a bookkeeper/ barista and Christian was a local photographer who had his art for sale in the shop. His first words to me were literally, “Hey, get off the computer. We need that.” At least he was being funny and those blue eyes sure do sparkle when he’s up to mischief. 😉 We became fast friends as…
